Suspect Sought In Violent Queens Sex Assault

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have released new surveillance images of a suspect they say is wanted in connection with a violent sex assault in Queens.

It happened around 5 a.m. on Nov. 1 in the area of Melbourne Avenue and Kissena Boulevard in Flushing.

The 23-year-old victim was approached from behind, punched in the back of her head and thrown to the ground, police said.

Police said a passerby intervened and the man ran off.

The suspect was seen on surveillance video boarding a bus before the incident, police said.
