Woman Killed In Staten Island House Fire
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- A woman was killed in a house fire on Staten Island on Saturday.
The 49-year-old woman's body was found inside of her Hawthorne Ave. home in the Willowbrook section of the island.
Neighbors told the Staten Island Advance that the woman had mostly kept to herself since the death of her husband but that she was very kind-hearted.
"She was very sweet. She always said a nice hello," neighbor Phyllis Stein told the Advance.
Firefighters responded to a call around 6 p.m. and were able to bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
