Cops Hunt For Suspect In Brooklyn Livery Cab Robbery

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a man they say robbed a livery cab in Brooklyn on Friday night.

The suspect flagged down the cab around 10:30 p.m. at the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Lincoln Place in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, police said. When they arrived at East 79th Street and Farragut Road in Canarsie, the man placed an unknown object to the driver's throat and forced him to hand over his wallet and leave the car, according to authorities. The robber then drove off in the vehicle, a blue 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis, police said.

Police have released a surveillance image of the suspect. He is described as black man, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing around 180 pounds. He has a dark complexion and was seen wearing a waist-length jacket.
