Giants-Redskins Game On Dec. 1 To Stay In Primetime

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Giants' game at the Washington Redskins next month will stay in prime time even though the teams are a combined 7-13.

The NFL had the option to swap another matchup on NBC's "Sunday Night Football" for Dec. 1 under its flexible scheduling policy. The league said Monday it wouldn't make a switch.

The two clubs could still be in playoff contention in the weak NFC East, and the division's matchups are always big ratings draws even when the teams are struggling.

CBS is keeping the Broncos-Chiefs AFC West showdown, which had moved to the late afternoon slot. Of the other Sunday afternoon games Thanksgiving week, only Cardinals-Eagles is likely to feature two teams in playoff contention.

Big Blue (4-6) is currently 1 1/2 games behind the first-place Eagles, and the Redskins (3-7) are 2 1/2 games back.
