3 Dead When Car Hits Tree In Wallkill

WALLKILL, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Three people were killed this weekend when a car slammed into a tree in the Ulster County municipality of Wallkill.

Officers responded to a report of a one-car crash at 386 Ingrassia Rd. in Wallkill at 9:18 p.m. Saturday, Town of Wallkill Police Chief Robert Hertman told the Middletown Times Herald-Record. They found three people inside the smashed vehicle.

Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene and the third was pronounced dead at Orange Regional Medical Center.

The cause of the crash was under investigation Sunday.

The names have been withheld pending notification of relatives.
