Rolle Proclaims Tuck As 'Nothing Less Than Phenomenal' In Sunday's Win

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Antrel Rolle was in a relaxed mood when he joined "Joe and Evan" on Tuesday. During the interview, Rolle admitted he was receiving a massage while chatting on the phone with the WFAN midday hosts.

Even though he was in a more laid-back mood, Rolle was fired up about the performance teammate Justin Tuck against the Redskins on Sunday.

"One of the best defensive performances I've ever seen," Rolle said. "He had a never-quit mentality."

TUCK: 'I'D LOVE TO BE A GIANT NEXT SEASON'

Rolle said Tuck was "nothing less than phenomenal" in Sunday's 24-17 victory over Washington. The defensive end completely dominated the Redskins' offensive line on Sunday. He sacked quarterback Robert Griffin III four times.

"He had eye of the tiger and wasn't going to be denied," Rolle said.

RGIII was hot at the start of the game, but cooled off as the game wore on as Tuck and the Giants piled the pressure on the Redskins' quarterback.

"If you get in panic mode when things don't go your way at beginning of the game, you're gonna be lost at end of game," Rolle said.

Next up for the Giants is the 5-7 San Diego Chargers. It will be the mission of Rolle and the Giants' secondary to keep San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers quiet.

Rolle described Rivers as a "gunslinger." Rivers has thrown 23 touchdowns and nine interceptions through 12 games for 3,633 yards.

The Giants will be looking to push their record to 6-7 and keep their playoff hopes alive when they travel to San Diego.
