Jerry Makes His Return A Memorable One

Jerry Recco made his return to the morning-show mix this morning after being excused yesterday so that he could perform his civic duty.

Jerry, of course, has the duty of delivering sports updates when prompted to do so, but before he was given the green light to begin, Boomer first did some venting about New York traffic. It caused the Blonde Bomber to miss a meeting in midtown yesterday afternoon, before wreaking havoc on his morning commute.

Then it was update time, which cast the spotlight on the update maven that is Jerry. He basked in it, beginning his performance with a thorough preview of tonight's Knicks-Nets matchup in Brooklyn, including some telling comments courtesy of Carmelo Anthony and some advice from Mike Woodson that made Craig question J.R. Smith's health.

From the Nets' side of things, Brook Lopez talks about the importance of just going out there and playing, while Joe Johnson shed some light on the growing rift between his head coach Jason Kidd and the recently-demoted Lawrence Frank. (The two are pictured together, presumably during better times.)

Plus, with the Giants getting set to travel to San Diego to take on Philip Rivers and the Chargers, Tom Coughlin felt the need to remind a reporter of his and Eli's success with Big Blue.  Rex Ryan goes a little overboard while praising his rookie class, but then again that's what Rex does.  Some NFL future plans show favor to a potential audience in London over an established audience here in the United States, the Yankees finalize a deal with utility infielder Kelly Johnson, the Rangers give Henrik Lundqvist an extension and the Devils lose, 4-3, to the Canadiens in a shootout...
