BRICK, N.J. (AP) — Police in an Ocean County community are asking for the public’s help in finding out why two men broke into a home, bound the resident and then ransacked the place.

Brick police say the two men were dressed all in black and had covered their faces with scarves when they forced their way into the home late Thursday.

Police were called after one of two children at the home escaped to a neighbor’s house.

Investigators are searching for any items including clothing left behind by the intruders, who fled on foot. They are asking neighbors who spot such items not to touch them and to call police, the Asbury Park Press reports.
