BELLPORT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Police in Suffolk County are investigating the theft of a crucifix from a church in Bellport last month.
Police said someone broke into the Mary Immaculate Church on Browns Lane and stole a three-inch by five-inch gold crucifix. It happened sometime between 7 p.m. on Nov. 25 and 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 26.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
