NEW YORK, UNITED STATES: (FILES): This 30 October 2000 file photo shows New York Yankees’ owner George Steinbrenner giving the thumbs up during a ticker-tape parade in New York after the Yankees won the 2000 World Series, the 26th championship for the team, by beating the New York Mets. Steinbrenner, 73, was in stable condition 28 December 2003 at a hospital in Sarasota, Florida, after fainting at a memorial service for his friend, Hall of Fame quarterback Otto Graham. Steinbrenner has owned the storied Yankees franchise since 1973 and has had 20 team managers in 31 seasons. AFP PHOTO/Doug KANTER/FILES (Photo credit should read DOUG KANTER/AFP/Getty Images)
