Police: Missing Long Island Teen May Be In Manhattan

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a silver alert for a missing teenager from East Northport who may be suffering from bi-polar disorder.

Melissa Didaniele, 17, of 80 Norton Drive was last seen in Central Park in Manhattan on Friday, December 6. Her family is concerned that she may not be seeking shelter from the cold and is attempting to locate her.

Didaniele has been described as a white female with short dark hair, blue eyes, and a lip ring. She is 5-ft tall and weighs 110-lbs. She was last seen wearing black pants, a green coat, a multi-colored beanie and a black backpack. She may also be wearing non-prescription glasses with a black frame, police said.

Detectives have asked anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
