NYPD Officer Gives Homeless Man A Sweatshirt

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A New York Police Department officer has gone above and beyond the call of duty.

The officer, who did not want to be identified but was wearing a nameplate with the last name Ramos, was seen giving a shivering homeless man the sweatshirt off his back Friday morning, 1010 WINS reported.

The temperature outside at the time was only 28 degrees.

The act of kindness came a year after another police officer was seen giving boots to a shoeless man in Times Square.
