Red Hot Chili Peppers To Headline WFAN'S 'Big Hello To Brooklyn' Concert

Earlier today on CBS RADIO's all-sports station WFAN-AM/FM, morning show hosts Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton welcomed acclaimed drummer Chad Smith who announced that multiple GRAMMY® Award-winning rock band, Red Hot Chili Peppers will be headlining "WFAN's Big Hello To Brooklyn" at Barclays Center on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014.

"WFAN's Big Hello To Brooklyn" also features New Politics, MS MR, J Roddy Walston & The Business, and Basic Vacation. The show takes place on the biggest weekend in sports and entertainment, and is the exciting conclusion to Barclays Center's "Kickoff In Brooklyn" series which also includes championship boxing (1/30/2014) and a matchup between the Brooklyn Nets and the Oklahoma City Thunder (1/31/2014).

"This is a big event and it's a very exciting weekend obviously for New York (with the Super Bowl)," Smith said on the Boomer & Carton show.

One of the most successful acts in rock history, Red Hot Chili Peppers, which is singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer, Smith, and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, have sold more than 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum LPs, and won six Grammy Awards, including "Best Rock Album" for Stadium Arcadium, "Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group" for "Dani California," "Best Rock Song" for "Scar Tissue," and "Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal" for "Give It Away."  The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2012. The Red Hot Chili Peppers' latest studio album, I'm With You, was released by Warner Bros. Records on August 29, 2011.
