Westchester Coach Admits To Sexually Abusing Young Girls

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A former Westchester County basketball coach has admitted in court that he committed sex acts against three grade-school girls.

Richard Dinizo of Cortlandt Manor pleaded guilty to three counts of predatory sexual child assault, Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced Tuesday.

Prosecutors said the offenses occurred between 2008 and 2010. They said Dinizo had the girls wear masks to cover their eyes, then had them engage in oral sex.

Dinizo faces up to 25 years on each count. He is to be sentenced Feb. 18.

Dinizo had coached at various schools and leagues, but investigators said he had not coached the girls involved.

A federal case against him, alleging sexual exploitation of a child and child pornography, is pending. A call to his lawyer was not immediately returned.
