2 Men Rescue Woman From Train Tracks In Madison, N.J.

MADISON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Two men risked their lives Thursday to save a stranger who had fallen onto the NJ TRANSIT tracks just minutes before a train pulled into the station.

Gerard Raho and another man were in Madison waiting for a Manhattan-bound train when they saw a woman fall face-first onto the tracks. They quickly lifted the unresponsive out of harm's way.

"I knew the train was coming, and I knew she was in distress and just had to go out there and pull her off of there," Raho told CBS 2.

It's likely the snow cushioned the woman's fall and kept her from suffering any serious injuries.
