NJ TRANSIT Bus Removed From Newark Building

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Workers have carefully and successfully removed a NJ TRANSIT bus from a building in Newark.

The bus, which was headed for Newark's Penn Station, slammed into the building on the corner of Market and Washington streets around 12:45 a.m. Thursday after colliding with a taxi cab.

Engineers had to figure out how to move the bus without toppling the whole structure.

Some of the facade from the 100-year-old building  fell to the ground when the bus was removed Friday, leaving a huge pile of debris on the sidewalk.

Eight passengers and both drivers were injured in the crash, which remains under investigation.
