Man Slashed With Razor On No. 2 Subway Train In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A candy vendor was rushed to the hospital after being slashed on a train in the Bronx.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. Friday as a southbound No. 2 train was pulling into the Third Avenue-149th Street station.

According to police, the vendor was selling candy on the train between the Jackson Avenue station and the Third Avenue-149th Street station when he got into a dispute with another passenger.

That passenger pulled out a razor and slashed the vendor in the chest and back, police said.

The attacker fled when the train pulled into the 149th Street station.

The victim, a 25-year-old male, was taken to Lincoln Hospital. He was listed in stable condition.

Trains were briefly suspended on the 2 and 5 lines as police searched for the suspect.
