HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Police on Long Island were investigating Sunday night, after a bullet went flying into a house in Hempstead.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday in a home on Baldwin Road in Hempstead, Nassau County police said.

A 39-year-old woman was home at the time with three other family-members – two men ages 38 and 20 and a 15-year-old girl. They all heard a loud noise, and found that a bullet had struck a picture on the wall in the kitchen, police said.

Both men exited the house, and saw a black vehicle headed north on Baldwin Road, police said. They also saw two men in white T-shirts run off toward Windsor Parkway, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information was asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
