WATCH: J.R. Smith Unties Opponent's Shoe During Knicks-Mavs

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Jason Kidd has nothing on J.R. Smith.

The New York Knicks guard was caught on video untying the shoes of an opposing player during Sunday's 92-80 win over the Dallas Mavericks.

You have to see this:

Smith's hijinks occurred during a second-quarter free-throw attempt by Dirk Nowitski. The guard was subbed in with 2:08 left in the half and promptly bent over to yank on the laces of Shawn Marion.

It didn't seem to bother Marion, who was seen rectifying his sneaker situation after New York's ensuing possession.

The New York Post speculated that discipline could be coming for the oft-fined Smith.

Kidd, the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, was fined $50,000 in November for appearing to order a player to bump into him during a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. The move resulted in Kidd's soda being spilled on the court and gave the Nets, who were out of timeouts, a chance to regroup in the closing seconds.
