NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) — A pair of Brooklyn men have been charged with attempting to bribe police officers.

Jael and Jan Sanchez were both arrested on Sunday and charged with Bribing a Public Servant.

During the stop police noticed the passenger Jael Sanchez, 20, attempting to place a quantity of marijuana into his waistband. Sanchez was searched and authorities discovered marijuana, 21 gift cards valued at $24,000, and 14 forged credit cards.

Sanchez was arrested and during the course of the arrest allegedly offered police $10,000 in exchange for his release and the return of the property.

The suspect then placed a phone call to his twin brother Jan Sanchez who arrived at the precinct with a bag containing an additional $4,000.
