NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) — A chaotic scene unfolded as diners were sitting down for what they thought would be a quiet meal at a Popeye’s restaurant in East Flatbush.
An SUV smashed through the restaurant’s front window destroying tables and chairs, and leaving a gaping hole and injuries in its wake, CBS 2’s Hazel Sanchez reported.
The accident took place at 8:30 on Sunday night, a worker described the horror that he saw for CBS 2’s Sanchez.
“I was like ‘oh my god, oh my god,’ the manager comes out running and we see people. One lady was pinned under the car her arm was under the car and we helped to bring her out and there was one lady when I came up she looked like she was out of it,” Matthew Wilson said.
The driver, his passenger, and two customers were taken to Kings County Hospital. One person was in critical condition, two were in serious condition, and one suffered minor injuries.
