NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A suspect was arrested and charged late Friday in the rape of a 7-year-old girl in the Bronx.
Virgilio Ocampo, 33, stood accused of raping the girl in the Soundview section of the Bronx, police said.
Police put out a photo and a call for information about Ocampo’s whereabouts last week.
They said he was arrested pursuant to an ongoing investigation.
Ocampo, of the Bronx, was charged with rape, predatory sex assault against a child, use of a child under 17 in a sexual performance, sexual abuse, promoting a sexual performance by a child, possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
