'Avatar' Actor Arrested Following Run-In With Photographer On Greenwich Village Street

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Sam Worthington, the lead actor from Avatar was arrested in Greenwich Village on Sunday night.

Worthington allegedly punched photographer Sheng Li at the corner of Greenwich Avenue and Jane Street, police said.

Li was accused of kicking Worthington's girlfriend Lara Bingle.

The couple had been spotted at a bar called Cubby Hole a short time earlier, CBS 2 reported.

The photographer is in jail, Worthington is not but will have to appear in court.

In addition to starring in Avatar, Worthington's voice can be heard in the popular Call Of Duty video games.
