Irish Eyes To Smile In Hoboken Saturday

HOBOKEN, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- The luck of the Irish is headed for Hoboken as hundreds are expected to take part in the third annual Hoboken LepreCon bar crawl.

The city of Hoboken canceled the annual St. Patrick's Day parade back in 2012 because of drunken rowdiness in previous years.

But where there is a will, there is a way to celebrate the infamous drinking holiday anyway. And thus, LepreCon was introduced.

Hosted on the first Saturday in March, partygoers who purchase passes through the official website will be treated to drink specials and promotions as they make their rounds through Hoboken's hottest bars and restaurants, including TEAK on the Hudson, 1Republik, Pourhouse, Phoenix Bar and Grill, Hotel Victor, Little Town, and Havana Lounge.

Skipping the line, discounted cover or free entry, and drink specials are just a few of the perks to buying an official LepreCon pass.

Those looking to take part in the revelry need to purchase an official T-shirt or pass either beforehand online or on the day of at a booth.

Organizers said they will have a booth set up at Teak On The Hudson on Friday around 6 p.m. for anyone who ordered a ticket in advance and wants to pick them up. You can also claim your pass or shirt the day of the event at the same location.

So break out your best green gear and may the luck of the Irish be on your side as you and your friends celebrate the Feast of Saint Patrick!
