Cops: Suspect Brandished Large Knife In Attempted Lower East Side Robbery

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD has asked the public for help in locating and identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted robbery that occurred in the Lower East Side.

On Wednesday, February 12, a man followed a 31-year-old woman from the subway to her Suffolk Street residence. The man grabbed the victim, brandished a large kitchen knife, and demanded property. The woman grabbed the suspect's wrist and screamed prompting the suspect to flee the scene.

The woman was not injured during the incident.

The suspect has been described a 25-year-old male, he is 5'5", weighs 130-lbs, and was wearing a beige knitted hat, and a camouflage jacket.
