Man Charged In Christmas Day Shooting That Left 1 Dead On Long Island

MEDFORD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect has been arrested and charged in a Christmas Day shooting that left one man dead, and three others wounded, in Medford, Long Island.

Brandon Davis, 19, was charged with second-degree murder in the shooting at the Whitestar MTR auto repair business, at 33B Cedarhurst Ave. in Medford, police said.

The shooting happened at 3:30 a.m. on Christmas Day last year. Police were told masked men entered the business and demanded money before shooting the four.

Three of the victims were taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Taleik Bristel, 19, of Patchogue, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Davis was set to appear in Suffolk County First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.

The investigation into the shooting remained in progress Friday night. Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers anonymously at (800) 220-TIPS or the Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad at (631) 852-6392.
