Despite countless reports that a deal has been reached, without a signed contract, Craig predicted that Phil Jackson will shun the Knicks in favor of making a return to the Lakers and joining their front office. Imagine that for a minute.

A convoluted wager was made before Jerry Recco got busy delivering his first update of the morning, beginning with the Knicks, who won their fifth straight with a 116-92 thrashing of the Celtics.  The Nets outlasted the Heat 96-95 thanks in large part to the performance of Paul Pierce (pictured celebrating with his Nets teammates).  Jerry also provided a complete NBA scoreboard as the post season approaches.

Plus, NFL free agency continues to garner headlines, Eric Decker signs with the Jets, Darrelle Revis is a Patriot, some college basketball scores and some news from spring training from the Yanks, who got two long-balls from Francisco Cervelli, and the Mets, whose skipper Terry Collins met with the assembled media and attempted to speak.
