NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) — Police were investigating the death of a 5-year-old boy in Crown Heights, on Sunday night.
The boy was walking with a group of people but broke away from them and cut between cars on Empire Boulevard, according to police.
The boy was hit by a minivan that had been double parked. The driver stopped after a half a block and remained at the scene witnesses said.
The incident remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
