NYC Comedian Returns To Find Sex Party In Apartment

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Manhattan comedian says he thought he was renting out his apartment to a family in town for a wedding. Instead, he returned home to find a wild sex party being broken up.

As CBS 2's John Slattery reported, Ari Teman, who lives on Seventh Avenue in Chelsea, rented out his studio apartment through the online service AirBnB.com. When Teman popped in Friday night to pick up his luggage, he found partygoers being tossed out of his apartment by building management.

"Instead of there being a man with his brother and sister-in-law, as he said, there were 18 or so people outside looking like they were thrown out of a nightclub," said Teman, 31.

"I didn't see anyone nude or half-dressed, but I came in after they'd been caught and asked to leave," he said.

Inside his home, Teman found about six more people carrying furniture out of the apartment, and his home had been trashed. He said people were stacking his furniture in the rear alley.

The renter, Teman said, advertised a sex party with plus-sized women.

"We Googled the guy's phone number and found he'd been promoting a triple-X freak fest," said Teman.

Slattery spoke by phone with the man who rented the apartment, who said: "I did nothing wrong or illegal. There was no party at the location."

Teman said he feels victimized and, because he sublets from the apartment's owner, the co-op board is upset with him.

A spokesperson from AirBnB said the man who rented Teman's home has been permanently removed from the site and they will work with any law enforcement agencies investigating the matter.
