Report: Jets' Ryan 'Won't Be Happy' If Giants Sign Rodgers-Cromartie

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie didn't have to go far after leaving his visit with the New York Jets on Saturday without a contract.

His next stop was a meeting Sunday with the Giants. And he's reportedly still in town for a physical on Monday with Big Blue.

Some fans are getting restless as more and more Jets targets are agreeing to suit up elsewhere. It seems coach Rex Ryan feels their pain -- at least when it comes to the future of Rodgers-Cromartie.

Ryan "won't be happy" if Ro-Cro signs with the Giants, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

"We better get him," a team source told Mehta.

Ryan was reportedly hoping for a reunion last week with cornerback Darrelle Revis, who landed with the rival New England Patriots.

Jets general manager John Idzik has taken a conservative approach to free agency while many of the team's top targets -- cornerback Captain Munnerlyn, tight end Brandon Pettigrew and more -- have fallen off the board. But he made a big splash -- and filled the team's biggest need -- last week by signing wide receiver Eric Decker to a five-year deal. Idzik has also re-signed linebacker Calvin Pace and kicker Nick Folk, and added Breno Giacomini to the offensive line following the departure of Austin Howard.

Rodgers-Cromartie, 27, had three interceptions including a pick-six in 15 games last season for the Denver Broncos. He earned a Pro Bowl spot in 2009, when he had six interceptions for the Arizona Cardinals.

Antonio Cromartie, Ro-Cro's cousin, could also return after being cut by the Jets earlier this month.
