NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A brush fire broke out and destroyed about an acre of tall grass Tuesday afternoon in College Point, Queens.

The fire broke out 4:45 p.m. at 23rd Avenue and Ulmer Street in Queens, in the shadows of LaGuardia Airport, CBS 2’s Joe Biermann reported.

The FDNY pushed into the heart of the brush fire, and appeared to have extinguished much of it by shortly after 5 p.m. No buildings were involved in the fire, and there were no reports of injuries.

The scene of the fire is in an industrial area across Flushing Bay from LaGuardia Airport, and close to College Point Fields.
