Woman Charged After SUV Slams Into Fence Near Subway Tracks In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- An out-of-control sport-utility vehicle crashed through a fence that landed on a subway train in Brooklyn Wednesday, and the driver was later charged with lying about being carjacked.
As 1010 WINS' Holli Haerr reported, the accident happened around 5 a.m. Wednesday. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said the vehicle was traveling along East 18th Street near Albermarle Road when it jumped partially over a concrete wall and struck the fence.

Officials said the top of the SUV rested lightly on the train. The Q Train runs in a below-grade, open trench in the area.
After the accident, some neighbors wondered how fast the driver was going through a neighborhood of large homes. Other said it could have been a lot worse if the car had ended up on the tracks or being hit by a train.
"What would have happened if he'd have ruptured the gas tank?" one man named Paul said. "The passengers would have been in much, possible more danger, than we saw?"
The SUV was removed around 7:15 a.m.
A rescue train pulled up alongside the other train and about 50 passengers were taken to the Church Avenue Station, the MTA said. No injuries were reported.
Meanwhile, police said the driver fled the scene afterward.
Police said the alleged driver turned herself in hours later, claiming she was the victim of a carjacking, 1010 WINS reported.
But police concluded that claim was not true. The woman – Hannah Harris, 20, of Brooklyn – was charged with filing a false police report and leaving the scene of an accident.
After the accident, southbound Q trains ran express for a period of time between Prospect Park and Kings Highway while repairs to the fence and wall were made.
