Suspect Charged With Exposing Himself To Young Girls In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect was arrested Friday and charged with allegedly exposing himself to multiple young girls around Brooklyn.

Francisco Marxuach, 27, of the Sea Gate section of Brooklyn, was charged with public lewdness, exposure of a person, and acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17.

He was accused in a string of incidents within a period of 15 minutes this past Monday in the Gravesend and Bensonhurst sections of Brooklyn. He was allegedly seen driving around in a white pickup truck as he committed the acts.

Around 7:25 a.m. Monday, the suspect got out of his vehicle and came up to an 11-year-old girl at the corner of West 9th Street and Avenue O in Brooklyn, police said. He began chatting with the girl and then exposed his genitals before running off, police said.

Just five minutes later, the suspect got out of his vehicle and followed a 14-year-old girl into her friend's apartment building near West 7th Street and Bay Parkway in Brooklyn, police said. Inside, he tried to chat with the girl and exposed his genitals, police said. He ran off up the stairs of a building.

And 10 minutes after that, the suspect once again got out of his vehicle at West 6th Street and 65th Street in Brooklyn, police said. He came up to a 13-year-old girl walking down the street, tried to chat with her, and once again exposed his genitals, police said.

Police also connected Marxuach to an incident six days earlier on Tuesday, March 11. At 5:30 p.m. that day, two 13-year-old girls were walking near East 24th Street and Gravesend Neck Road, when they saw the suspect in his vehicle with the driver's side door open, and his pants unzipped exposing himself, police said.

The incidents had many people in the community on edge before a suspect was arrested.

"You never know, he might grab you and pull you inside his truck. That's really gross," 14-year-old Mariah Ferguson told CBS 2's Weijia Jiang.

"I think that's a disgrace. Why would you show yourself and feel comfortable about it? And then these little girls, you're traumatizing their lives. It's just disgusting," said 13-year-old Cassidy Mendoza.

Court information for Marxuach was not provided.
