Police Search For Caldwell Luring Suspect

CALDWELL, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in New Jersey are searching for a man wanted in connection with an apparent attempted luring incident.

Police said a young woman was walking along Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell around 3 p.m. March 16 when she noticed an older model white sedan with significant wear driving slowly behind her.

The man pulled the car into the parking lot, got out of the vehicle, walked up to the woman and asked her twice if she wanted a ride, police said.

The woman walked away and the man got back in his car and left, police said.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s, approximately 6-feet-tall with a medium build and receding brown hair. Police said he was wearing glasses, a black windbreaker type jacket and black pants.

The woman told police she believed he had a Russian accent.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Caldwell Police Department Detective Bureau at (973) 226-2600.
