Craig has got an itch, and Boomer isn’t interested in going to tonight’s Flyers-Rangers game with his radio partner. We’re not sure if the two stories are related, but they offered a prelude to Jerry Recco’s first update of the morning, which went predictably well — relatively speaking, of course.

If you listened to yesterday’s radio program, then you know Boomer did not like the Knicks’ chances against Mike D’Antoni’s Lakers. And as it turns out, the Booms was right.  The genius that is D’Antoni coached his team to a 51-point third-quarter explosion, which was enough to propel the Lakers to a convincing 127-96 win.

Plus, with the ACC Tournament soon calling Brooklyn home, Craig declared Barclays Center the new focal point for basketball in New York, a declaration that is sure to ruffle the feathers of those over at Madison Square Garden.

We also heard from Yankees manager Joe Girardi from spring training, which got Craig all “touchy feely.” The Mets cut Kyle Farnsworth but forgot to tell the reliever, the Islanders beat the Hurricanes and the University of South Florida’s plan to hire Steve Masiello as its next men’s head basketball coach hit a major snag…
