Police: Man Walked Into Apartment, Scared Woman In Bed In Montclair, N.J.

MONTCLAIR, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Montclair, N.J. were searching early Thursday for a man who allegedly invaded a woman's home, stood at the foot of her bed, and scared her as she woke up.

Police responded around 4:50 a.m. Thursday, March 20, to a building on Pine Street in Montclair, after the woman called to report the intruder.

The woman said she woke up to find the man standing at the foot of her bed. The woman told police the man said, "Are you ready for me?" when she saw him.

The woman said she screamed, and the suspect walked casually out the back door.

The man did not get into the bed or touch the woman, police said.

The woman told police the back door was open when she went to bed. She said she did not recognize the man.

The suspect described as a black male between the ages of 30 and 40, wearing blue jeans and no shirt. He had a mustache, was very thin at the waist, and had some sort of head wear on, police said.

Police have released a sketch of the suspect.
