After discussing fender-benders in the rear, Jerry Recco was cleared by the guys to begin his first update of the morning. And he responded with the scoop from the Mets’ 9-0 win over the Diamondbacks, which was highlighted by the return of Kirk Nieuwenhuis, who responded with a home run and three RBIs after being recalled from Triple-A.

Jenrry Mejia earned the win but left the game after five innings due to a blister. Terry Collins commented on the injury and his pitcher’s well-being afterwards.

Plus, Craig instructs Al Dukes to call Hal Steinbrenner, the White Sox beat the Red Sox, Boomer isn’t interested in traveling to the Jersey Shore for the sake of the show, Jason Kidd isn’t worried about losing to the Knicks, free-agent QB Matt Flynn cancels meeting with the Giants and will reportedly rejoin the Packers as a backup, Chris Johnson visits with the Jets but leaves without signing a contract, and to Boomer’s delight the NHL playoffs get underway tonight.
