When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a 16-year-old boy, identified as Michael Moore, unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Moore was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Moore had been arguing with two other guys outside his apartment building when one pulled a gun and opened fire, 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten reported.

Mary Lee Bell lives across the street and said she knew the teen.

"I've been living here since 1968, and I saw the boys grow up, but I don't know from anything. When I came to the door, I saw this commotion and I said 'my God what is going on.' The little boy, only 16. I'm so sad. I don't know what to do," she said.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing, no arrests have been made.
