NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Two men have been arrested in connection with three burglary cases in Nassau County.
According to investigators, a 44-year-old woman notified police of a break-in at her Bunker Road home in Lido Beach on April 9. They said an X Box 360, assorted jewelry and a laptop computer were taken.
Following an investigation, police arrested Lido Beach resident Jeremy Laratro, 18, on April 21 in connection with the burglary.
Laratro was charged with second-degree burglary and was arraigned on April 22.
Investigators said it was later determined that Laratro was responsible for an attempted burglary at a Leamington Street residence, which occurred on April 8, as well as a burglary at a Greenway Road home on April 14, where assorted jewelry was taken.
Laratro was arrested again on April 26, along with 22-year-old Long Beach resident Dayvon Merchant. Police said they believe Merchant is also responsible for the burglaries.
Merchant faces two counts of second-degree burglary and attempted burglary in the second degree.
Laratro faces additional charges of second-degree burglary, attempted burglary in the second degree, and third-degree grand larceny.
Both were expected to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Detectives are urging Lido Beach and Point Lookout residents to contact them at 516-573-6454 if they were recently a victim of a burglary.
