WATCH: Mo Rivera Makes Fun Of Jon Stewart For Being Mets Fan

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Jon Stewart is a lifelong Mets fan, and anybody who watches his show knows that the television host often mocks his favorite team on the air.

Well on Monday, iconic former Yankees relief pitcher Mariano Rivera was a guest on "The Daily Show." Stewart repeatedly praised the future Hall of Famer, and there was plenty of love thrown back and forth. The two discussed Rivera's new book, his journey to the top of baseball and Derek Jeter's final season.

And of course, the Amazin's also came up in the segment. A lot.

"Jon, I feel bad for you man," the all-time MLB saves leader said to Stewart in regard to the host's fandom. "You've been suffering all these years."

Stewart asked Rivera if he'll go into Cooperstown wearing a Yankees cap or a Mets cap, to which Mo dryly responded that he'll have a decision to make when he gets the call.

As for the Core Four of himself, Jeter, Andy Pettitte and Jorge Posada?

"It's a brotherly relationship," Rivera said. "It's something that you can't describe. You grow up with these three guys and come up to the big leagues for so many years, sharing good times and tough times. The beauty about it was that we all have the same kind of mentality. We know what we wanted to do. We had to go and beat the Mets."
