Bicyclist Struck, Killed In Queens Hit & Run
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A bicyclist who was sideswiped by a van on Rockaway Boulevard Sunday night has died, police said.
The incident took place at 9:37 p.m. Sunday night at Rockaway Boulevard and 90th Street.
The cyclist was traveling westbound on Rockaway Boulevard when he was sideswiped by the passenger side of black Mercedes Benz van, police said. The cyclist was knocked to the ground and run over by the van, according to police.
The driver of the van got out, then hopped back into the van and drove off, police said.
Emergency responders rushed the cyclist to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The investigation into the incident is continuing.
