Report: Mets Staffer Accidentally Emails GM's Credit Card Info To Media Members

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- This one is bad.

The Mets just continue to provide talk-show hosts and comedians with material.

The latest gaffe?

According to ESPN.com, an employee of the Mets accidentally emailed general manager Sandy Alderson's credit card information to nearly all the media members who cover the club.

The security code and the expiration date of the card were included in the email.

The message was sent with the purpose of securing Broadway tickets for the weekend, the website reported.

A few minutes after the accidental message was sent, ESPN.com reported that a follow-up message was sent. It read, "Please disregard the previous email. Sorry for any confusion."

After splitting the Subway Series, the Mets are kicking off a three-game series against the Nationals in Washington D.C. on Friday night before returning home for a nine-game homestand.
