NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) — Police have stopped a skimming scam before commuter information could be compromised.
A skimming device was found on a Metro North ticket machine at Grand Central Terminal.
Authorities disabled the device, put it back on the machine, and arrested a Queens man when he allegedly came to retrieve it.
Police have found several skimmers on ticket machines in the last month. The MTA is reportedly planning to introduce an app that would allow commuters to buy tickets on their smartphones and tablets.
