Woman Found Dead In Bedford-Stuyvesant Fire
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A woman was found dead late Monday in a fire in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
Around 9:55 p.m. Monday, police and firefighters were called to an apartment in a building at 605 Gates Ave. After firefighters put out the blaze, they found Beverly Douglas, 65, unconscious and unresponsive at the scene.
Douglas was taken to Woodhull Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
No one else was injured.
Police have not indicated any possible cause of the fire.
