With Jerry Recco out today, our old pal Chris Lopresti filled in admirably handling the update duties. And his first effort began with the story surrounding Hendrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers, after they staved off elimination and forced a Game 5 in their Stanley Cup Final battle with the L.A. Kings, which will take place Friday night.

I should back up a bit, because as you can see by the accompanying photo, C-Lo got a little roughed up during his visit to the Allstate Studio.  This occurred when Boomer used Jerry’s understudy as a prop to make some sort of hockey point — so there’s that.

Anyway, in addition to the feelgood vibes surrounding the Rangers, the Yankees beat the Mariners 4-2 in Seattle, yet another game in which Masahiro Tanaka tossed gem.  In a somewhat related story, Craig favorite foil Suzyn Waldman offered some unfiltered commentary on Mariners reliever Charlie Furbush.  Or was she talking about something else?  It’s kinda tough to tell, but that didn’t prevent Craig from having some fun at John Sterling’s radio partner’s expense.

As far as the Mets, they lost again, falling 3-1 to the Brewers in a game that Terry Collins got ejected from – how ’bout that…
