Jon Beason Carted Off With Foot Injury At Giants OTAs

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- New York Giants linebacker Jon Beason limped off the field and had to be carted back to the locker room during OTAs on Thursday.

Trainers were focusing on his right leg, according to NJ.com. Coach Tom Coughlin later said the injury was to Beason's foot.

The Daily News' Ralph Vacchiano noted that Beason was in the passenger seat of the cart, not riding in back.

Beason was traded to the G-Men from the Panthers for a seventh-round pick in October and made an immediate impact, recording 93 combined tackles and an interception in 12 games with New York.

The Giants made retaining the 29-year-old a priority this offseason. He re-signed in March on a three-year deal worth nearly $17 million.
