Search Is On For Alleged Drug Dealer Who Escaped Police Custody In Queens

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a suspect who escaped custody in Queens on Monday night.

Shortly before 7 p.m., a Queens Narcotics Detective suffered an injury to his right leg while trying to apprehend the escaped prisoner who had been arrested for allegedly selling narcotics.

Police told 1010 WINS the officer chasing the suspect was hit by a car. It was not known whether the suspect or someone else was behind the wheel, and no vehicle description was available, police said.

The suspect Bryan McMenamin, 38, has been described as white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a bald head, he was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and black sneakers.
