Jerry Recco’s update was heavy on the Tanaka side, and for good reason.

Yankees all-world pitcher Masahiro Tanaka did his thing on Tuesday night in the Bronx, and Jerry provided the details associated with the his 11th win. The Bombers’ 3-1 triumph over the first-place Blue Jays put them just 3.5 games behind Toronto in the AL East.

Mark Teixeira joined Suzyn Waldman after the game for the “OK John” moment, which prompted Craig to mention Miss Waldman’s connection to the infamous O.J. Simpson chase, which was covered at length yesterday. That led to speculation about what it might sound like if someone provided play-by-play during Al Dukes’ “sexy time.”

Plus, the Mets’ struggles continued with a 5-2 loss to the Cardinals in St. Louis. Daniel Murphy had a forgettable defensive performance, David  Wright busted out, the Royals remained red-hot and the latest on soccer’s World Cup — as well as Jets and Giants camp…
