NYPD Seeks Man Wanted For Questioning In Midtown South Assault

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a man wanted for questioning in connection with an assault in Midtown South.

Police said the incident occurred around 1:10 a.m. Wednesday at the corner of 33rd Street and Fifth Avenue.

They said the 38-year-old victim was engaged in a verbal dispute with an unidentified individual when the person punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall and hit his head on the sidewalk.

The suspect then fled the scene, police said.

The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital Center in critical condition.

Police described the person wanted for questioning as male who was last seen wearing a long sleeve dress shirt, black slacks with a black shoulder bag.
