Police Find Non-Verbal Woman With Down Syndrome Who Went Missing In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A woman with Down syndrome who went missing over the weekend following a doctor's appointment in downtown Brooklyn has been found.

Danielle Selig, 44, disappeared Saturday afternoon on the corner of Livingston Street and Gallatin Place after becoming separated from staffers from Mercy Home, the Greenpoint housing facility where she lives, 1010 WINS' John Montone reported.

Selig was found Monday and taken to Woodhull Hospital for evaluation, police said.

She is non-verbal and has the mental capacity of a baby, Montone reported.

Selig has wandered off in the past, to a McDonald's in her own neighborhood.
